Services
My psychotherapeutic approach involves drawing on various models that fit the unique needs of each client. It is my hope to create an environment for clients where they feel a sense of safety to express their reflections, thoughts, concerns, and what is working for them in our sessions as well as what is not. I take on a non-judgmental, non-expert stance and firmly believe that clients have everything that they need already within them- my role is to simply remind you of who you are or to help you discover who you would like to be through supportive, therapeutic conversations.
My background in relational therapy allows me to understand individuals through the relationships they cohabit. Couple therapy may be a vehicle for growth to occur both relationally and individually. This in turn may assist in bringing you closer to your desired goals through understanding and breaking down language used in relationships. Throughout couple sessions, I lean towards emotionally-focused therapy, as I have witnessed its transformative effects particularly in romantic relationships.
Families come in various forms and sizes, and at times, navigating through these relational dynamics and understanding differing perspectives may be difficult. Throughout our time together, we will work to make each member’s voice heard, find ways of communication that feel helpful, and establish and restore connection.
My approach when working with children and youth is to ensure that they are provided with a positive and safe experience of therapy. I prefer to tailor therapy to one's developmental stage by creating a fun environment that may involve art and play during sessions. Discussions about their interests, skills, and special talents and abilities are at the forefront of our therapeutic conversations to help build confidence and feelings of positivity. I may invite parents or siblings into sessions as well.

Areas of Focus
Grief & Loss
I, like many of us, am no stranger to the feelings of grief and loss and I am aware of how deeply unique and personal these experiences can be. The way that I imagine being part of your journey through these moments is by holding your hand and walking through this unknown path together, while discovering new aspects and meanings of the self and your experiences along the way. I will check in with you to ensure that we are walking this path at a pace that is most suitable for you, as there is no need to rush during this time.
Anxiety & Stress
The experience of stress and anxiety can be a challenging one to navigate alone. Throughout sessions, we will work to understand activators of stress and anxiety, develop management tools that serve you best, and explore the various meanings and purposes that stress and anxiety serve in your life.
Women's Issues
I am comfortable working with women on pre- and post-pregnancy challenges. I have experience with those going through IUI and IVF treatments. I focus on the intersecting experiences of women in society and how these may affect our perceptions about ourselves. We can work to deconstruct these ideas that are no longer serving you and reach a place of healing and empowerment.
Self-Esteem
Self esteem is integral to how we view and conduct ourselves in the world. As we navigate through life, we may notice our self esteem fluctuating which can also dictate our self worth. Sometimes when we struggle with self esteem and/or self worth, we are led to develop relationships with others and ourselves that feel counterproductive to personal growth. If you find yourself struggling with self esteem and/or self worth, we can work to challenge these ideas, learn about where they come from, and deconstruct their meaning in order to help you reach a place of confidence and peace with who you are.
Trauma
I believe that all traumas are unique and should be treated as such. No matter what you have experienced in your life, it is valid, and when you feel like you are ready to step into healing, I will help to create a safe space where you can explore your relationship with your past or ongoing traumatic experiences at a pace that feels best for you.
Depression
Depression presents in various forms and has many different features. When working with me, you will find that space is created to explore the experience of depression, its influence on different aspects of your life, and how you can work through these challenges as they arise.
